Dinner with Nana Sue

After our stay in Osseo we were off to visit Nana Sue and Gimpa at their home in Marshfield. Norah got a tour of their amazing gardens and got to have just picked blueberries and sweet peas, of which sweet peas were her favorite. Norah loved crawling (that's right, CRAWLING!) around on the floor playing with Nana Sue's picnic set (I'm pretty sure I had one just like it when I was a kid!) Norah loved sitting in the highchair at Nana Sue and Gimpa's. She felt like such a big girl!

Open Wide!

Suckin on some watermelon in her Munchkin fresh food feeder.

Wait a minute Nana Sue, I want what you're having!!
Having dinner with the family, such a big girl!

I'm not so sure about this watermelon!

Auntie Times!

Norah got to meet her Auntie Becky and Auntie Katie for the first time ever this week! She loved them instantly! She loved sitting on Lou's lap. Lou shared all of her super cool toys with Norah, lucky the dog, a soft princess blanket, a fancy piano and even an exersaucer (Norah's current fav). Lou even shared with the big girls, although I think that Becky and I might have gotten a little carried away playing Polly Pockets into the wee hours... too many Polly cocktails ;D

Wake up baby Norah, your fans are waiting to meet you!

Waking up to big smiles

Norah's so precious she made her Auntie Katie cry.
(sorry Katie, it was too sweet to pass up!)

So happy together!

Norah loves it when Lou holds her, just look at that grin!

Baby kisses

The Love Sac

...is a little old place where. we. can. get. together.

The term 'bean bag' could never possibly do the 'Love Sac' justice. Made from the softest furniture foam this 'sac' is a must have for optimal lounging.... just ask Norah. She rolled all over this Love Sac at Gretchen's abode, which the princess Lola graciously shared. I am now thinking that when I have the space in my home (and my pocketbook!) I will have a sac of my very own! It's just great for a little impromptu photo shoot!

Grandma's House

Norah loves her Grandma Gigi! She has just the right touch and gives into her whims even more readily than her mama... no easy feat! Grandma Gigi is hard at work trying to get Norah to fall asleep in her crib, also no easy feat as our little miss is a girl on the go who falls asleep best when in motion (a walk, a drive, a swing, a rocker). Where there is a will there is a way... right?! We'll just see who's will is stronger (my money's on Grandma)!
Oh it's been too long!!

Look who's got me... it's Grandma Gigi!

I will not fall asleep. I will not fall asleep. I will not....

.....fall.....asleep......
(side note: this is my great-great grandmother's rocking chair, over a hundred years of putting babies to sleep.... you didn't stand a chance Norah!)

Six Month Shoot Out

Norah has arrived at six months with a growing curiosity and determination. She is scooting all over the place, having fully mastered her comando crawl. She has expensive tast, cameras, phones and computers being the most enticing treats. Her babbles are full of creative vowel and consonant combinations and surprising articulation.... she has said 'daddy', 'hi', 'mama', 'i don't think so', and many others. Although we are not counting them as an official first word until she knows what she is saying and why.
Norah and I are home now in Minnesota to celebrate the fourth and get some long overdue pampering from Grandma Gigi, Auntie Becca, and Aunties Becky and Katie... they also dote on Norah too when they're not busy pampering me ;D Sunday we are off to Wisconsin to visit Gimpa and Nana Sue who are going to take us to meet Norah's Great-grandma Fox and her Uncle Ben, Aunt Lori and one and only cousin, Auralia. She is so excited she can hardly sleep... literally!
Stay posted for fun posts to follow!

Grandpa and his girl

Last weekend Grandpa Roy was able to stay and play Grandpa for a few days.  Norah took to him like a bee to a flower, it was so sweet.  We drove out the McKenzie Highway and did the Sahalie Kooshah Falls hike; it was beautiful.  Dad and I treated Norah to many of the lullabies from my childhood, lots of Kingston Trio and Harry Belefonte.  It was so great to have Grandpa here longer, as is first meeting with Norah when she was three weeks was only a few wonderful hours.  Norah and I will be traveling to Cincinnati in the middle of August to visit with Grandpa Roy, Grandma Debby and Auntie Becca.  Norah is very excited to meet her Grandma Debby. I can only imagine the new tricks she'll have to show off by then!

Norah wants her morning pick-me-up too!
