Trick or Treat!!

Norah was all the buzz for Halloween this year, which just happens to be her TEN month birthday!!!  Double Digits!  Gimpa and I carved a pumpkin and handed treats out to all the tricky kids.  Norah even got to have her first bit of chocolate in one of Gimpa's famous cookies!  Talk about a treat!!  Her trick, however, is the real headline.... she took her first steps!!!  Look out world!

Pumpkin Patch

Gimpa and Norah and I took a trip to the pumpkin patch today and found a pumpkin to carve for tomorrow! We are excited for all of the trick-or-treaters to come sporting their ghoulish glitz! Norah has some special tricks prepared, but will have to wait until next year before her first official treat. Speaking of tricks... today she went from sitting to kneeling to standing without any support!! Way to go Norah!!

So many choices!
Our sweet pumpkin pie.

A girl and a gourd.
Who are you callin' a pumpkin?!
This one looks MAGICAL!!!
Norah is happy to have her Gimpa here all the way from Wisconsin!
But she sure is missing her Nana Sue!
Love the fall!

Nothin but Norah

Sweet Potato Smile

Check out the ginger levels!!!
Norah mocks any attempt at child proofing.
Case in point.
There's those teeth!
Two so far and judging by the drool levels there's more comin' soon!

Norah taking advantage of a diaper free moment!
Caught in mid-stream!
She'll be seeing this one again at her senior year slide show!
Girl on the go!!
Quacky Kisses
Norah has been standing for almost ten whole seconds!
This is the first time it's been captured on film!
Look how proud of herself she is!!  Still waiting for that first step!
Norah's not scared away by the rain!
Sitting in the sink checking out mom's Zinc.
This is at the peak of the flu that we all got and some of us still have... it has been a rough weekend, so much so that we were so pathetic in our skypes with Nana Sue and Gimpa that we got Gimpa to come out all the way from Wisco to help nurse us back to health!  That makes being so sick almost worth it!  Nana Sue, you are sorely missed!

Fall Family Photo

Fall is in full bloom here in Eugene.  The golden yellows and brilliant reds bring vibrance to those dull grey days.  I always wish that fall would last longer and we could all linger in the warmth of it's colors and watch the leaves dance in the breeze.  But as it were it seems that as soon as the trees are in full color, the winter wind blows and before you can say ''Jumpin Jack Frost!" all the leaves have dropped to the ground.
We were happy to catch a beautiful fall day with our wonderful friends and fellow new parents, Ellyn, Aaron and William, their two week old son.  We took a lovely walk along the Willamette River and exchanged family photo sittings!  I'd say they're just as good as a professional.  And with all the tricks that iPhoto has to offer, who needs 'em!  There are more to come, but here is a highlight / preview.  (Don't be surprised if you see this again with a Christmas letter..... and don't be surprised if you get that letter next Easter;)

Baby Blue

Mama's girl
(Norah has expanded her vocabulary to include 'mamamama', along with 'Dat!', 'da-di', 'da-da' and 'ba-ba'.  There is still no clear subject, although 'na-na-na' seems to really mean 'No!')
Crawling is quite a workout!
Sweet baby face
This is Norah's new move, getting up to a knee and a foot (like she's going to propose!).  One step closer toward walking!

Gnip Gnop Gal

Norah's getting her ping pong game in gear!  She likes to be the center of attention, and the center of the game!
