Every year we have a birthday. Greg and I just happen to have ours one right after another, and for two years now, we have added the celebration of our anniversary to our early August festivities. In honor of this, and my last week of maternity leave (tear) we took to the mountains and headed to Bend. We took the Satiam Pass scenic highway and did a hike up Proxy falls to stretch our legs. We spent the first night in a lovely resort, Riverhouse, with good friends Lincoln, Carisa and Mia. I should say great friends, because they were the first to take on our dynamic duo and give us a night out. Greg and I got amazing Mexican at Amalia's and took a dip in a bowl of Margaritas! The next day we headed to Little Lava Lake and did some exploring around this lovely little campsite at the headwaters of the Dechutes River. After a perfect night in the tent we had a lazy morning, and headed up Mount Tumalo to get a closer look at the Sisters. It was a tough hike, but the views were well worth it, and it made the dip in Sparks Lake afterward even more amazing! It was an awesome trip. We are officially in love with Bend and the Sisters Wilderness Area... maybe some day!
