We headed out the Umpqua River for a couple days of camping just before Labor Day weekend was in full swing. We left right after my second interview on the cardiac floor at the hospital, the floor I interned during school on and where I have been holding out hope to work. Camping was the perfect way to get away from cell phones and computers and just relax and be present in the midst of amazing Oregon beauty. Not to mention beating the heat by staying in the river all day!!! We spent two peaceful nights at Colton Creek campground. Norah love playing in the 'rio'; throwing rocks into the water became her purpose and passion; she was dedicated! She is getting really good at 'floating' (still with some help, of course!) and kicking her legs in the water. She never wants to say 'Bye bye Rio'.
We were able to get some great hiking in, starting with a six mile hike to the top of Mount Tipsoo, a not-so-foreboding name is appropriate for this gentle summit. But don't let the ease of the climb fool you, the views from up top are simply breathtaking and we enjoyed complete solitude! On our last day we did a hike out to Watson Falls, a mile and a half that Norah walked almost entirely on her own! It was a lovely falls... unfortunately I burned out the battery on the camera getting the perfect family shot on the top of Mount Tipsoo... cest la vie!
Sharing a river rock with Daddy, throwing rocks into the 'rio!'
Look at those red heads and all that fair skin...
good thing we found a nice shady spot!
Sandy butt shot!
It is my duty as a mother to
photo-document these moments... is it not?!
A perfect little stretch of river and our precious little river rat!
I was going for another sandy butt shot,
but that sweet face is just as cute!!!
Cheers!

A part of the amazing 360 views from Mount Tipsoo!
The highest Norah has ever been, over 8,000 feet!
Grabin a snack at the top, we had earned it!

Thanks Becca and Scott!
Norah just loves playing in the 'teent'!
Here's a lovely stock photo of Watson Falls...
probably better than I could have done anyway!
Oh, and for those of you who are a sucker for a happy ending like I am....
I GOT THE JOB!!!!
I am so grateful and very excited... almost as much as Greg, who is convinced this is his ticket to early retirement! I just hope that my equally eligible coeds will soon have the same luck!
