This is a retro post from a time long, long ago (four weeks or so!), before Greg and I were husband and wife. It was a couple days before everyone started to arrive in preparation for our big day and we decided to get away and enjoy the calm before the storm along the scenic Santiam Pass, a stretch of road that runs up and over the cascades that is only open for about four months of the year. It's narrow and windy forty miles takes you through the heart of ancient forests and erie volcanic flows and offers heart-stopping views of the Sisters Peaks. There are plenty of lovely pockets to stop and make camp along the way; which is precisely what we did! It was just what we needed to do before the whirlwind of our wedding was upon us!
Trying to get Norah to take a nap...
Do I look tired?!?
I'm just so into this book, how could I even think of sleeping?!?
Have you given up yet....
but alas, she succumbed to the car ride and the lulling curves of the Santiam Pass!
A cheap victory, but a victory none the less!
Our Camp.
Dinner: grilled fake sausage and mac n' cheese.
A camper's gourmet!
Blurry, but adorable!
Sittin by the one-match-fire with Daddy
Norah was a good helper when it came to breaking camp
Just look at that focus!
Let's go Daddy!!
Waterfall!!
Family shot! Bishop's got the biggest smile of all!!
A great view of the Sisters peaks on the Santiam Pass
en route to Sister, OR for a bite to eat!
