Grandpa Roy flew into town yesterday for a sneak peak at his first granddaughter. We were so excited that he was able to stop by and meet Norah so soon! It was a quick visit, but Norah managed to give Grandpa Roy quite a show, with lots of happy alert time, some stellar napping and of course some nipple starved crying. Norah is already very excited for Grandpa's trip this summer when she will get to meet Grandma Debby! By then she will be full of smiles and crawling all over the place! Crazy to think about how fast that will come!
For the time being, Norah is what my parents referred to as a 'flapper'. She is still learning that she had control over her arms and legs. Every now and then I swear she plays with her tongue. She can lift her head up when she is on her belly, especially if she thinks there might be a nipple to land on!
I have started back to school full force. I gave my first injection this week, a successful interdermal (same thing as a TB test) to a classmate, who is still talking to me! This coming week I start taking care of patients on the Neuro floor of the hospital. I am still a little nervous about this, but they tell me that's a good thing. And I won't be poking any patients for at least a couple weeks! Whew! And so far Greg, who has also started back to work, is doing a great job of playing papa while I am off playing with needles. I really must say that Greg has proved to be quite the papa, don't tell him I told you this, but he has been doing laundry, dishes, diaper changes, and tonight he cooked his first pie (the same amazing curried veggie pie that we made for Christmas...someday I'll include the recipe!)
As Greg and I embark on our adventures in parenthood and marriage over the next few years, this blog will allow us to share the highlights and headlines with all of our family and friends that are so far away, yet so close to our hearts.

Baby Bjorn 101
Here's a couple new photos as we approach the three week mark.
Norah is doing great and treating us to some fun alert time where we can imagine the world through her big bright eyes.
I have also learned how to upload video, so look forward to sharing some moments with us in real time!
Love to you all
Our first adventure with the baby bjorn, which has since proved to be far superior to baby benedryl!
I have since learned that you can't rotate video, hope this didn't make you dizzy!
Greg scored huge papa points with this ensemble he sported for yet another sunny walk to the bakery.
Thanks for the beautiful blanket Julie!

Goodbye Gramma Gigi
Gramma Martha, now to be known as Gigi (as in G.G., for Gramma Gorder) returned home to Minneapolis on Friday morning after helping us through our first week with Norah. Let me just say that Greg was able to go disc golfing for two days in a row because there was nothing to keep him busy around the house after Mom had left not a dish to be done, a meal to be prepared or a rug to be vacuumed. It was so great to have her here, and while my attempts at selling her on the charms of west coast living have not yet persuaded her to abandon the frigid winters of Minnesota, at least little Norah will be able to get her out here for a sunny summer visit.
In the mean time Greg, Norah and I are settling into something that slightly resembles a schedule. I am much more mobile and have had to get used to feeding myself and fetching my own beverage every now and then. I made my first appearance back at school and am planning on being back in class this Friday. I have been staying up to date on class work with the help of a few fabulous classmates thanks Tegan, Mary and Jes! With their help I will not have to play catch up for as long, although we are in for some full days ahead.
Norah is just amazing and has been treating us to some nice long stretches of sleep. She is just beautiful....when she's happy, and she's still pretty cute when she is ordering us around! She sure does miss her Gramma Gigi!
Priceless
"Did you say you were leaving?!"
"I love my Gramma Gigi!"
Peek-a-Boo!
"I'm not so sure about this!"
"I yawn in your general direction, Bishop!"
Pretty in Pink
Sporting her first girly get-up from Gramma Gigi
My personal favorite way to spend an afternoon!

Norah's Fan Club
A few of Norah's fans stopped by for one last look before they had to head home.
Here' a closer look at Norah's face as she works on perfecting her Cartman impression.
Catherine and Eric are already back in Berkley, but will be back for the summer when Norah will be awing us all with her smiles.
Bill couldn't resist one last snuggle before he goes back to New York to pursue a career as a taxi driver.

Eight Days a Week
I think it was Einstein who theorized that time does not exist. With the passing of each moment the future becomes the past with a fluidity that hardly allows for the sustained enjoyment of the present. So we are spending this first week trying to harness all those moments that are gone before you realize they are here.
While our life with Norah began only eight days ago, time has already begun to fly. The hours of the days just slip away and melt into memories. It is a great accomplishment to send an email or take a shower. It has ben such a blessing to have mom here. Norah is loving this time with her grandma, who knows lots of tricks to keep her happy. She has been able to help Greg in appeasing the two princesses of the house. She actually brought me pancakes in bed the other day! And Greg has more than once spoon fed me so that I didn't have to stop feeding. So spoiled am I!
I am enjoying more mobility and less pain every day. We enjoyed our first full family walk to the market yesterday, even Bishop was along! Bishop thought that we brought Norah home just for him. He gets very concerned when she cries and gives her the sweetest little kisses when we let him.
Throughout this week we have looked forward to a wonderful home made dinner every night brought to our home by some of the amazing women from my blessing. Our fridge is positively busting at the seams with soups, casseroles, breads and even beer! We will be eating for weeks on this food. Mom has added her fair share of home made creations to the collection as well, namely the squash and spinach enchiladas that have become a culinary staple around here.
Greg is just the proudest papa and I have a feeling that our little Norah is a Daddy's girl at heart. She loves time in the rocker reading with Dad and likes to give him a run for his money at the changing table.
Our first week as a family has been a dream. If I could bottle time I would have filled cases with the moments I will treasure from this week.

Images of a Norah
Norah has made lots of friends and is very cute! She also has green poop, but I don't have any photos of that so here are some photos of Norah and her new friends...
Norah had her first reiki session with Julia, who has been giving her lots of reiki love since the day we found out she was coming.
Ellyn and Aaron stopped by the hospital to drop off some sweet treats from Sweet Life and catch a glimpse of our sweet treat.
Lindsey and Andre stopped by to check out Norah's ginger-vitis levels. Lets just say he didn't plan on holding Norah before he got there.
Dr. QB, "I guess you can be a parent, if you give me one of them cigars."
Here are some fans waiting to see Norah: Catherine, Sean, Kelsey, Bill and EFG is somewhere
Thanks Tagen and Noah, they brought us a care package with chocolate, grapes, cookies, dog toys, cheese and fresh baked bread still warm from their oven! If anyone else brings over that kinda stuff, they will get their picture taken with Norah and get in the next blog. Here we are, the family unit hitting the streets for the first time our first walk to the Hideaway Bakery. Sarah was walking strong while I (greg) got to "Bjorn" Norah there. Thanks for lunch Martha!Norah was a big hit at the bakery. The lady who shot this (and about 15 others photos) was very excited for us.
It's always nap time with Norah.
